Revisiting the past has it consequences

Look at the way he sheepishly hugs you every so oft
and you take in his gentle scent, kisses his cheeks so soft
Remember the way he grips your hand like he won't let go
how, whenever he looks at you, his face lights up aglow
You find yourself, once again, yearning for his sweet embrace
that wraps around you so tight, engulfs you with a feeling
anticipating a kiss to be planted on your face
So you can give him one back and he won't forget the taste
of the way you feel about him. How you keep on wishing
for this moment to be frozen, treasured in many ways
Remember his resonating voice that soothed your fears
a love reassuring, you don't need to cry any tears
you then promise to come back and he promises to wait
until you are returned safely in his arms once again.

It doesn't start to make sense but I am already starting to miss you weeks before I am to leave. I am so worried I'm turning into a poet, and a poor one at that.
