Substitute sweetener for sugar

Midway into my course, just right before I stopped going to school, I have heard that our college has a new professor, who was a band member of an existing popular band. Barbaric as I was back then, non-conformist to a certain degree, I took note of the professor's name - Taguibao, and nothing else beyond that: I didn't even know what his band was.

Right after I returned to my college and enrolled in an introductory Political Science course, it was with luck that landed on Taguibao's class. I have had heard unsatisfactory remarks about him prior to our first meeting, and so I have set my expectations.

I suddenly remembered that I never bothered to check his background. And by background I was referring to his band. Even if I may have chanced upon his band name, I may have, considered it as a nuisance back then. If not for gossip material, it wouldn't really be important.

Jalton Taguibao is the basist of the band Sugarfree. And I had once loved Burnout. I still do.

It's not a crime to not memorize the names of the band members of Sugarfree. I collectively called them Sugarfree, and I always will. I still don't think it's necessary to know them more than their band's name, because if I do that - that's fangirl-ing already. However, it's kinda hard to separate the image of Jalton teaching PolSci to the image of Jalton as a basist of one of my favorite bands.

+1 example: People do not always live up to their own image. Images are only dictated by society, anyway.
