Trashtalking communists

People are still talking about ChaCha (Charter Change). I doubt that many people care. While each the opposition and the administration had continuously been throwing propaganda at each other, the people are left with what we can call “baked- half truths”.

What is good for our country? It would be hard to cook up something right now. I, for one, believe in the idea of Globalization. It’s something we could not and would not be able to pull ourselves away from. Plus, we should either take up or be consumed by the challenge of globalization. It’s the way the world is right now. It’s the spider’s web. Now the only problem is, there are way too many big spiders. How can a country like ours be able to face off with huge states?

For me, we should start at the beginning. We should find our roots. We must try to wring out Filipino culture and separate it from the rest. I have no anti-foreigner sentiment. I’m just thinking as Filipinos, we shouldn’t try to be something we are not. We can simply be.

We should enrich education, culture and arts. We have our own heritages. I’m not saying we should go and proliferate Filipino culture all throughout. I’m probably thinking that the people need to KNOW. They need to learn about the Philippines. You see, I think we need, now more than ever, our own self-identity.

And I think that globalization is not just a mere tool for capitalism. We can deal with that later. Right now, I’m thinking we should learn (and maybe even develop in the process) our cultural heritages. We should be proud of who we are.

Notice how in a group of people, there’s always the leader? We’re not cut out for that. We could probably just try not to imitate the leader. We can be ourselves. We have our own identities.
