Sometimes I participate in the War of Emperium(WoE), and I usually join Armed and Loaded. I enjoy the thrill and the supplies I experience when I'm with them. Recently, an expose of an bug abuse wherein there are (not one) but TWO GMs in one guild appeared in the Ragnabarkadahan forums (formerly Baldur Boards)!
The detective (who my chismis sources tagged as (probably) a Boza (Bozanian Beast Fighters) spy) posted images of the Emergency Call used by two different people in the same guild! Astonishing isn't it?!
I've joined AnL during sieges a few times already, and it's usually under Mimiz Division, one of the two Anl Guilds which was exposed of exploiting the bug. The other screenies was from the guild led by 2 fast 2 furious, and also showed the same dual gm tactic.
As to how this bug materialized, I'm currently unaware of. But one possible theory is that before the Server Merge (originally, Chaos and Loki were separate Servers, until they merged into Baldur), there were two separate guilds in Chaos and Loki which had the same Guild name. And thus, after the merge, there only existed one Guild with two Guild Masters. The possibility of Guild Hacks also exist, where an ordinary player could get the same abilities the GM has. Or, maybe, a Game Master gave them the capability to have 2 GMs at the same time. They're all sound theories aren't they?
As to how it was used, I've had experiences wherein GM Mimiz was not present but then we could still be EC'd. Or instances where EC was used from one agit to another. I used to think it's possible for the GM to EC in an Emp Room, leave the breakers to do their thing, reconnect and warp himself to the main Agit, use flag and EC again in the Main Agit Emp Room.
I'm unsure if Iwant to have AnL disqualified. Some AnL members said that they've reported this to LUG before (#343), but nothing happened (there was no resolution) that's why they still abused the bug. I agree with them (if they did send a report before) that it wasn't entirely their fault. Not to say though that they shouldn't be punished. Proper sanctions should be implemented, and it's possible that they could get disqualified for the Agit Lords, making them unable to participate in this year's Ragnarok Philippine Championships.
However, there's a loophole I've thought of: it's possible that they declare the guilds independent of one another. Proof of the Dual GMs were for the 2 fast 2 furious and the mimiz division. It's not for the jamscogan division, AnL's Agit Lords runner (currently at third place).
I'd have to say that if AnL is disqualified, I think that other bug abusers (all guilds who abused bugs such as portal ECs, etc) and third party program users (such as speed hacks, hexed clients, etc.) should also be disqualified. If that happens, I wonder who'll run for the Agit Lords! Haha.
Bugs can be abused. The presence of such anomalies does not rely on the game developer though. It's still up to the users to play fair.
In my own verdict, I say AnL mimiz division is guilty of the Dual GM tactic. As to whether they'll be disqualified or not, that would be up to the Game Masters to decide.
